Offshore wind market opportunities in IrelandWind energy
Norwegian Energy Partners and Norwegian Offshore Wind Cluster, together with the Norwegian Embassy in Dublin and Greater Stavanger, are launching a webinar focused on updating you on the developments in Offshore Wind in Ireland.
Ireland’s offshore wind energy market is in an emerging state with only the Arklow Bank Wind Park Phase 1, a 25.2MW demonstrator project off the coast of Co Wicklow, in operation in Irish waters. However, the ambition for Ireland’s east coast is high as development of offshore is essential to Ireland’s delivery of 5GW of offshore wind energy by 2030 from the Irish sea, as set out in the programme for government followed by Floating Offshore Wind development in the Celtic Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
We will hear from our new Ambassador in Ireland the honorable Mari Skåre, representatives from The Irish Wind Energy Association, Enterprise Ireland, as well as developers including Fred Olsen Renewables - currently developing the Colding Wind Park - and from Shannon Foynes Port - potentially a significant logistic hub for Offshore Wind going forward.
The webinar will be facilitated and lead by Norwegian Energy Partners Renewable Advisor for the UK and Ireland Ronnie Quinn.
