  • Malaysia Offshore Oil & Gas Market Report 2020 - 2023 Expand Minimize Prepared by Rystad Energy for Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP), 21 August 2019

The offshore production in Malaysia has been relatively flat at around 1.65 mmboepd since the early 2000s, but with an increasing share of natural gas volumes. Sanctioning activity was relatively high before the downturn, but collapsed in 2015 and 2016. However, several gas-condensate projects such as Bergading were sanctioned in 2017, and in 2019 and 2020, several new development projects are expected to enter the tender phase. Still, the greenfield activity will be lower than before the downturn, and the offshore market will remain at the low 2016-levels towards 2023.

This is an excerpt from the  Annual Offshore Oil & Gas market report 2020 - 2023 .
