On the 26th of January, Norwegian Energy Partners and Norwea organised Norway´s first floating offshore wind conference.

The floating wind industry might finally get a better footing in Norway and to better understand how the industry is growing internationally and which opportunities it might offer Norwegian offshore and maritime suppliers, Norway´s first floating wind conference looked at how the French government has developed the four recently offered licenses for large scale piloting, why the Scottish government has supported the Hywind pilot and what they expect to win on industrial development, how the next phase of the Principle Power Portuguese pilot will look as well as how other demonstration and project development effort´s in Japan and the US (CA, Hawaii) are moving ahead.

In addition, we were updated on the status of the Hywind pilot project off the coast of Scotland and also the next phase of the Hywind adventure, while a number of technology developers explained the need for new technology and innovations in the supply chain and the potential for Norwegian suppliers.
