Oslo Offshore Wind Days 2019

Wind energy

7 - 8 March 2019

Market: Norway

Location: Felix Konferansesenter, Bryggetorget 3, 0250 Oslo

On the 7th and 8th of March, Norwegian Energy Partners held the 9th edition of its supply chain event, Oslo Offshore Wind Days.

At Oslo Offshore Wind Days 2019, a truly global speaker panel will discussed and analysed market developments and supply chain challenges in various parts of the world, including developments in  in the US, Europe, China, as well as other developing markets.

It is interesting times for the participants in the offshore wind industry. While the European market is turning merchant, new regions are introducing auctions and we see cost coming down in all markets at an amazing pace. New technology, both in bottom fixed and in floating wind will drive the industry forward while policy makers globally are increasingly including offshore wind in their new energy portfolios.

European developers are widening their global scope and are including projects both east- and westwards in a frenzy to take market position. Supply chain is following their clients to new markets adding some strategic strain but allowing for volume gains. The regional diversity and the flurry of new market participants are challenges to suppliers as global reach and local content is needed.

On 7th March, we discussed market developments and supplier challenges, and on 8th March, the discussion was focused around the last developments in floating wind and its vast opportunities.
