After the successful fact trip to Taiwan in 2018, Norwegian Energy Partners is planning another business mission to Taiwan mid March 2019.
Taiwan Offshore Wind Business Mission – Date TBA March
Taiwan has some of the best wind resources in the region and attractive natural geography for installation of offshore wind farms. The government is supporting 5.5 GW of projects licensed in May/June this year and a fast build-out is expected as part of a larger plan to replace 8GW of existing nuclear power by 2025.
Taiwanese authorities and companies are looking for cooperation with foreign companies, which can provide knowledge and solutions within the entire value chain, from project development, trough turbine supply, construction, installation and maintenance and the Norwegian offshore and maritime expertise can play key role in the future development of offshore wind in Taiwan, making Taiwan an attractive market for Norwegian supply chain with ambitions in Asia. A number of international developers and main contractors have already set up shop in Taiwan and a number of agreements have already been signed with local partners.
