Offshore wind business mission to Taiwan 2019Wind energy
Following a very successful fact trip to Taiwan in 2018, Norwegian Energy Partners organised another business mission to Taiwan on 25-29th March 2019.
The Taiwanese offshore wind market is one of the fastest growing in Asia and at the same time possibly the most accessible one. Taiwan has some of the best wind resources in the region and attractive natural geography for installation of offshore wind farms.
The government is supportive, with strong renewable energy ambitions and a 0.5 GW target of installed capacity by 2020 and 3 GW by 2025 as part of a larger plan to replace 8GW of existing nuclear power by 2025. These ambitious goals are supported by very attractive FIT comparing with other Asian markets.
Taiwan is looking for cooperation with foreign companies, which can provide knowledge and solutions within the entire value chain, from project development, trough turbine supply, construction, installation and maintenance and the Norwegian offshore and maritime expertise can play key role in the future development of offshore wind in Taiwan, making Taiwan an attractive market for Norwegian supply chain with ambitions in Asia.
Who should attend?
Norwegian companies operating within the offshore wind sector, including: developers, planning and design consultancies, marine/offshore construction, transport and logistic, installation, sub suppliers to major developers, and operation and maintenance.
NORWEP organised a match-making forum with support from Taiwan´s authorities, meetings with project owners, developers, turbine suppliers, fabrication yards and installation companies as well as consultants and advisors of importance.
Arrival on the 24th March of April with meetings from the 25th to 29th March.
