Norwegian Energy Partners plan a visit to Scottish Renewables Offshore Wind Conference, Exhibition and Dinner in Glasgow on the 23rd and 24th of January.

Norwegian Energy Partners plan a visit to Scottish Renewables Offshore Wind Conference, Exhibition and Dinner in Glasgow on the 23rd and 24th of January.

We have at earlier occasions found the Scottish event useful and small enough to enable good meetings with relevant developers and suppliers. We therefore invite the Norwegian offshore wind industry to join us for a two day visit to discuss the opportunities at the wind farms being developed in Scottish waters. While larger contracts to some extent have been rewarded, we expect to enable discussions on specific smaller deliveries and to have good discussions with developers and main suppliers that could work as background for further contact at other UK projects.

Offshore wind in Scotland
The UK government recently announced that the next CfD Auction to support offshore wind will be in April 2017. The £290m round will open in April 2017 for projects to be delivered in either 2021-22 or 2022-23. In Scotland, it is likely that the developers of the Moray Firth (EDPR) and Inch Cape zones will be applying. The Beatrice (SSE) project reached FID this summer and while most large contracts are awarded, there are still opportunities in the lower tier supplies and the O&M. The 588MW, 84 turbine project is being developed with a tier 1 supply chain comprising Seaway Heavy Lifting, Subsea 7, Nexans and Siemens.

We plan to arrive early in the day on the 23rd or late on the 22nd (Sunday) to hold meetings during the 23rd before the official dinner in the afternoon and during the conference on the 24th.
We have negotiated reduced prices for the dinner and conference (100 and 165 instead of 125 and 210 GBP respectively ex. VAT) .  Click here for more information about the Scottish event.
