NORWEP at the Pacific Rim Offshore Wind conference
The West Coast of the USA is preparing for Floating Offshore Wind. The Pacific Ocean Energy Trust (POET) is hosting a focused conference, engaging the offshore wind industry. It will take place in San Francisco, California from 30 September - 2 October 2019. POET is one of the upcoming organisations advancing West Coast offshore wind, which will complement other activities driven by AWEA and The Business Network for Offshore Wind.
It is still early days but the fact that the West Coast supply chain is not developed, offers opportunities for Norwegian industry to get in and engage early. Both Equinor and Aker Solutions are very active in the region already. To signal Norway's West Coast presence at an early stage and to strengthen relationships with emerging new stakeholders, NORWEPs Andy Geissbuehler, Country Manager Renewables US, and David S. Ottesen, Director Wind, plan to attend the conference and develop an information package for our partners based on what we learn. A list of registered organisations that will also be attending the Conference, including Equinor and Aker Solutions.
A reception in cooperation with the Norwegian Consulate General in San Francisco and Innovation Norway is also being planned.
Andy Geissbuehler and David Ottesen will be present at the conference and ready to assist visiting NORWEP partners in making the most out of their participation. Please reach out to us, also if you would like to attend the reception or if you have suggestions for clients and contacts that should be invited.
