Markets
Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is widely recognised as being critical to reaching the global goal of net zero emissions by 2050, by organisations such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and International Energy Agency.
The market for CCS is projected to grow substantially, driven by the urgent need to develop large-scale commercial CCS projects and hubs to meet climate change mitigation targets. This is evidenced by increasing global financial backing from private investors, as well as greater government policy support for CCS.
This Roadshow aims to draw together CCS project developers, CCS technology providers, government, and stakeholders from Australia and Norway to provide an update on CCS project and technological developments and share lessons learned on advancing this priority technology.
The seminar will follow the following outline. A detailed agenda will be available closer to the event.
Insights from major CO₂ emitters and CCS project developers in Australia.
CO₂ Emitters’ Ambitions and Strategies
Presentations from major Australian CO₂-emitting companies (tbc) outlining their decarbonisation goals and how CCS fits into their broader emissions strategies.
CCS Project Developers – Project Overviews and Progress
Presentations from CCS developers (tbc) sharing updates on current projects, key milestones, challenges, and opportunities.
Learn from Norway’s experience in CCS deployment, with a focus on technology, infrastructure, and operational insights.
