Value proposition

The Octio WellWatch service is based on a focused acoustic sensor network placed on the seabed. The sensor network is primarily used in passive mode, detecting fracturing due to expansion of the injection plume. A real-time remotely operated system provides alarms if events are approaching predefined boundaries.

The Barents Sea area is characterized by shallow reservoirs and faulting to surface. Ensuring containment of injection is essential for safe operation and optimized recovery. Octio WellWatch increase drilling safety by:

Monitoring cap-rock integrity and fault reactivation for a safe injection
Enabling larger injection flows and capacity due to the increased safety
Mapping plume migration
Monitoring crack formation for prevention of water breakthrough into producing wells
