UK

On behalf of Team Norway UK, we invite you to join the trade delegation and business events organised alongside the Royal visit by The Crown Prince Couple of Norway to the UK. During the visit, a range of presentations, panel discussions and business meetings will be arranged to showcase how increased cooperation between the UK and Norway can advance the energy transition – benefitting both countries and supporting a net zero scenario as well as energy security by addressing:

  • Measures to decarbonization the Oil & Gas sector and onshore industrial clusters
  • The acceleration of offshore wind deployment

The Norwegian Crown Prince Couple will be accompanied by Norway's Minister of Trade and Industry, Jan Christian Vestre, and Norway's Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Terje Aasland.

Measures to decarbonise offshore oil & gas and onshore industrial clusters
In the continuation of efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of the energy industry, the conference will address challenges and solutions to reduce  emissions intensity in the production of offshore oil and gas by means of emissions reductions measures including electrification & offshore wind, as well as decarbonisation of UK onshore industrial clusters with solutions such as hydrogen and CCUS.

Offshore wind
In the deployment of offshore wind, the UK government and industry are well coordinated, and the British industrial base is growing steadily. Norwegian offshore wind industry has supported the development of the UK industry since its inception, and recently the Norwegian government has also announced a plan to license 30 GW to 2040 in Norwegian waters.

The offshore wind sessions will therefore address increased opportunities for collaboration in many segments of the industry – securing energy and reducing carbon emissions while simultaneously creating a sustainable industry in both countries.
