Following the success of the first Norway–Philippines LNG Summit last year, which brought together over 150 stakeholders, the 2025 edition seeks to deepen bilateral cooperation and advance concrete partnerships in the sector. Norway - Philippines LNG Summit will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts from the two countries.
The event aims to exchange insights on the current state and future direction of LNG in the Philippines and exploration of new gas resources, while showcasing Norwegian expertise in areas such as technology, environmental solutions, and project models. It will provide a platform for public and private stakeholders to engage in dialogue on projects, prospects and business opportunities while identifying concrete opportunities for collaboration between Filipino and Norwegian companies across the value chain.
We would like to invite relevant companies to join the summit with a speaker and presentation focusing on your technology, services, and capabilities with relevance for the Philippines. Beyond presentations and discussions, the event offers excellent opportunities for profiling, networking, and B2B meetings for participating Norwegian companies.

The global demand for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is rising at an unprecedented pace, particularly in Southeast Asia, where consumption is projected to more than double by 2050. In this rapidly evolving energy landscape, the Philippines stands at a critical juncture. Facing increasing electricity demand, a need to diversify energy sources, and environmental pressures to reduce reliance on coal, the country has identified LNG as a transitional energy solution.
However, integrating LNG into the national energy mix is no small feat. It requires massive investments in infrastructure, advanced technology, regulatory alignment, and capacity building. As the Philippines accelerates this transition, learning from global best practices and building strategic international partnerships becomes essential.
Offshore gas exploration plays a vital role in securing the Philippines’ long-term energy future. With the Malampaya gas field — currently supplying a significant share of Luzon’s electricity — projected to run dry within the next decade, the search for new reserves has become a national priority. The Department of Energy is focusing on unexplored basins in the West Philippine Sea, Sulu Sea, and Palawan, which are believed to hold substantial untapped resources. To accelerate development, the government is using mechanisms to offer more attractive exploration contracts. If successful, new discoveries could help offset the decline of Malampaya and reduce reliance on imported LNG.
Norway, a world leader in the natural gas sector, offers decades of experience at all levels of the sector. Norwegian companies are at the forefront of LNG technology, environmental solutions, and offshore production systems. The collaboration between Norway and the Philippines represents a unique opportunity to accelerate the Philippines’ LNG roadmap through knowledge transfer, investment, and technology sharing.
