Carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) is a crucial concept for succeeding in cutting emissions to achieve the climate targets, and important for a net zero world.
Internationally, the CCS/CCUS industrial opportunities could be huge, but the future is now! The industry is committed to contribute with new technologies, scaling up solutions and reducing costs. In addition, politicians must establish long-term and predictable framework conditions as taxes and fees and getting the necessary regulatory framework in place.
The Northern Lights/Longship project is the first full scale CCS project. This infrastructure project is Norway’s contribution to reduced emission, it shows that CCS is feasible and demonstrate that the CO2 value chain is part of the solution. This project gives the Norwegian supply chain a unique opportunity to take a position within CCS internationally.
