By Jon Dugstad • 26 Mar 2026

NORWEP was pleased to take part in the naming ceremony of WTIV Norse Wind in Oslo Harbour, an important milestone for the offshore wind industry and a strong example of close Belgian-Norwegian cooperation.

WTIV Norse Wind is DEME’s next-generation wind turbine installation vessel, designed to install the new generation of offshore wind turbines and large monopiles in deeper waters. With its advanced capabilities, the vessel will play a key role in enabling large-scale offshore wind projects in the North Sea and beyond.

Holding the naming ceremony in Oslo added particular significance. It highlighted Norway’s long-standing offshore expertise and its growing role in the international offshore wind value chain, an area where NORWEP has worked closely with partners over many years to connect Norwegian suppliers with major international projects.

NORWEP has supported the development of WTIV Norse Wind through its network and collaboration with industry partners, and was proud to join this special occasion together with representatives from across the Belgian and Norwegian offshore wind ecosystem.

The naming of WTIV Norse Wind marks not only the launch of a new state-of-the-art vessel, but also a shared ambition to accelerate the energy transition through strong international cooperation. NORWEP congratulates DEME and all involved partners on reaching this important milestone.
