Vertical Service was established in 2003, entered the oil and gas industry in 2007, and later expanded into the wind industry in 2018.
It has been a supplier to SGRE since 2021, following the signing of a frame agreement (NEME) for WTG services that same year. Operations began with just six technicians and have since grown into a team delivering annual maintenance, retrofitting, and blade services across Norway, the Benelux region, and Denmark for the D3 platform - more recently also including work at Hywind Tampen (D8).
In 2024, a second frame agreement was signed with SGRE, covering blade inspection and repair, with services scheduled to commence in Norway in 2026.
Today, Vertikal Service employs approximately 180 technicians and rope access specialists, offering multidisciplinary expertise in mechanical and electrical work, rigging and lifting operations, welding, and surface treatment.
60 employees are dedicated to wind power projects (WTG services and blade repair) across Europe. The remaining staff work on onshore and offshore projects within the oil and gas industry.
In May 2024, Archer acquired a 65% stake in Vertikal Service AS. This strategic acquisition positioned the company as a key pillar in Archer’s renewable energy investments, strengthened its international capacity, and led to the opening of a joint office in Gdańsk to support the European wind industry.
On November 1, 2025, Vertikal Service officially changed its name to Archer Vertikal AS and is now fully integrated into Archer as a sister company.
