Value proposition

Limited amount of existing subsurface data can lead to delays and incidents during drilling. In DrillWatch projects, Octio deploys seismic sensors on the seabed analysing noise from the drillbit and fracturing in order to provide:

Geosteering of drillbit
Seismic imaging of structures ahead of the drillbit
Monitoring of fractures and their location
Improved knowledge base for planning future wells

Octio DrillWatch is especially useful in the Barents Sea, due to shallow reservoirs, a complex geology and compass unreliability in northern latitudes. Octio’s 4C seismic seabed systems have been successfully used at injection wells to detect and position injection events, induced fracturing and perforation shots. A first pilot test is conducted successfully in the Barents Sea.
