Honeymooring® by Semar

Semar’s patented Honeymooring® system is a robust and cost-effective mooring solution for floating wind farms. Honeymooring reduces dynamic loadings and eliminates re-tensioning and erosion issues. Heavy chain is replaced by fiber ropes and a subsea buoyancy tank. This reduces cost and lifts the mooring off the seabed, resulting in low CO2 and seabed footprint. It also enables simple pre-installation, hook-up and tensioning without high bollard pull. A full-scale pilot is planned for 2027, with commercial installations following thereafter.
