The patented Deep C CFE is a purpose-built solution for high-efficiency seabed excavation, developed through world-leading expertise in sediment dynamics, jetting, and dredging technology. Unlike conventional systems, Deep C’s CFE uses a patented nozzle that directs sediments sideways, creating a clean and stable trench with minimal disturbance to the surrounding seabed. This design maintains visibility, ensures trench profile accuracy, and reduces the need for rework, thus making it ideal for pre-sweeping sandwaves, trenching for cables, and other offshore excavation scopes.
CFE operates independently of guide wires and uses auto-heading control, so vessels are free to maintain their preferred heading without holdbacks or restrictions. The system requires minimal deck space and only four offshore personnel, keeping costs and logistics low. Fully electrically driven from topside with no hydraulic equipment on deck, the CFE can delivers up to 800 m³/hour excavation capacity, even in challenging soils. It’s field-proven, fast to mobilize, and fully compatible with Deep C’s broader intervention toolbox, including integrated use with ROV dredging systems for complex terrain.
