Targeting arctic and cold climate regions, Shawcor has developed its industry leading Ultra Wet Insulation system. Goliat is the first project in the Arctic to require wet thermal insulation pipe coatings. Shawcor’s solution for this specific requirements was Thermotite® ULTRA™, an innovative subsea thermal insulation system with unlimited water depth capability. The Thermotite® ULTRA™ coating solution allows the operator to reduce the thickness of the pipe coating compared to other competing coating solutions, while keeping the same thermal insulation performance.
