Unique value proposition (UVP)

Over the past 13 years, Grotnes Steel has developed a proprietary steel quality (TTSTE 355 Z3) in cooperation with the Norwegian technical research institute SINTEF and leading oil and gas companies. The steel quality is better than NORSOK M120 MDS Y20 and can in many cases replace ASTM A182/F22 as a cost effective solution. The steel has especially good toughness at low temperatures, down to minus degrees 60 Celcius. A common requirement in the North Sea and in the Norwegian Sea is that the toughness of the steel must be maintained down to minus 46 degrees Celsius. Further north the requirements increase. Grotnes Steel performs "cut to scape" multi-level cutting of steel up to 1 600 mm, saving considerable machining cost, and can also produce forged material from NORSOK M123.
