HydroTable is a patented cable carousel designed for the storage, handling, and controlled payout of subsea power cables and umbilicals. The system uses a pressurized water layer acting as a hydrostatic bearing, enabling smooth and precise rotation with extremely low friction and highly uniform load distribution.
Unlike conventional carousels based on wheels or rollers, HydroTable tolerates structural misalignment up to ten times better and easily accommodates point loads such as cable termination heads. This makes the system particularly robust in demanding offshore and port environments.
The design scales efficiently to very large capacities and can be installed directly on standard concrete floors without the need for extensive foundations. Its very low kg/m² footprint significantly reduces structural steel and civil works requirements.
With up to 90% fewer rotating components compared to traditional carousel systems, HydroTable offers extremely low maintenance requirements and high operational reliability. Built-in redundancy and simple mechanical architecture reduce operational risk while ensuring stable load control during cable storage and installation operations.
HydroTable is suitable for offshore wind cable logistics, port storage facilities, and installation support bases where reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency are critical.
