Windworks Infrastructure AS is established to develop an effective, large-scale production facility for fabrication of wind turbine foundations and associated inshore services. The value proposition of Windworks is to provide facilities with significant capacity and lower cost per unit, high local value creation and employment, low-emission production, sheltered waters for assembly, and available site area and shoreline suitable for production of foundations for up to 1 GW installed capacity pr. year. The site of Windworks will be strategically located close to existing port infrastructure in southwestern Norway, and the short distance to existing port infrastructure in the UK enables flexibility in execution and creates a range of opportunities for doing business across the North Sea.
