Unique value proposition (UVP)
The wide adoption of Azipod propulsion technology in ice-breaking field has strengthened ABB’s reputation to fulfill even the most demanding sea transportation performance requirements. ABB has delivered electric propulsion systems to over 80 icebreakers or ice-going vessels ranging from LNG's and OSV's to cargo tankers with a propulsion power of up to 36 MW. We are in a unique position to manufacture total electric power and propulsion solution for icebreaking vessels. All main products in our solutions are produced in-house, which enables us to control and secure complete deliveries, and to simplify lifetime maintenance and service.
