Multiconsult has a long history of working with ground conditions, infrastructure and environmental issues, designing tunnels and underground caverns. Landfall areas and onshore pipelines may experience arctic temperatures below -40 °C. The challenges in such arctic environments can include sea ice, near-shore environmental sensitivity, coastal regression, permafrost, and the deep burial required to prevent damage from ice gouging in shallow-water areas. Multiconsult offers experience and expertise gained from landfall of pipeline projects in combination with our experts on arctic and cold climate engineering. We help develop relevant scenarios as basis for selecting the most suitable and cost-effective landfall solution and design of the selected solution for both pipelines and cables.
